Driving mode.
When exiting the vehicle, always remove the key
fob from the vehicle and lock your vehicle.
When opening the driver's door and the ignition is in
the ON/RUN position (engine not running), a chime
will sound to remind you to place the ignition in the
OFF position. In addition to the chime, the message
“Ignition ON” will display in the cluster.
All electrical devices are available (e.g. climate
controls, heated seats, etc.).
Never leave children alone in a vehicle, or with
access to an unlocked vehicle.
NOTE:
The vehicle will not start if the key fob is located inside
the cargo area and the liftgate is opened.
Allowing children to be in a vehicle unattended
is dangerous for a number of reasons. A child
or others could be seriously or fatally injured.
Children should be warned not to touch the
parking brake, brake pedal or the gear selector.
The ignition will automatically switch to the OFF
position if the following vehicle conditions last for
30 minutes: ignition placed in the ON/RUN position,
gear is in PARK and engine is off.
Do not leave the key fob in or near the vehicle,
or in a location accessible to children, and do
not leave the Keyless Enter ‘n Go™ Ignition in
the ON/RUN position. A child could operate power
windows, other controls, or move the vehicle.

POWER DOOR LOCKS
The power lock/unlock button has an LED that
indicates whether the doors are locked or unlocked.

Push the lock button on the instrument panel. The
indicator light will illuminate to show the doors are

Backup Starting Method
NOTE:
If the ignition switch does not change with the push
of a button, the key fob may have a low or depleted
battery. In this situation, a backup method can be used
to operate the ignition switch. Put the key fob in the cup
holder between the front seats, in the dedicated spot
with a symbol and push to operate the ignition switch.
CAUTION!
Push the lock button on the instrument panel a second
time to unlock the doors.
An unlocked vehicle is an invitation for thieves.
Always remove key fob from the vehicle and lock all
doors when leaving the vehicle unattended.
NOTE:
The key fob may not be detected by the vehicle
Keyless Enter ‘n Go™ system if it is located next to
a mobile phone, laptop or other electronic device;
these devices may block the key fob’s wireless signal
and prevent the Keyless Enter ‘n Go™ system from
starting the vehicle.

A lock request is made by a valid Passive Entry key
fob while a door is ajar.
The key fob may not be detected by the vehicle
Passive Entry system if it is located next to a mobile
phone, laptop, or other electronic device; these
devices may interfere with the key fob’s wireless
signal and prevent the Passive Entry system from
locking and unlocking the vehicle.
A lock request is made by the Passive Entry door
handle while a door is ajar.
A lock request is made by the door panel switch
while the door is ajar.
If wearing gloves, if it has been raining/snowing,
or there is salt/dirt covering the Passive Entry
door handle, the unlock sensitivity can be affected,
resulting in a slower response time.
When any of these situations occur, after all ajar doors
are shut, the FOBIK-Safe search will be executed. If it
detects a Passive Entry key fob inside the car, and it
does not detect any Passive Entry key fobs outside the
car, then the car will unlock and alert the customer.
The doors may unlock when water is sprayed on the
Passive Entry door handles if the key fob is located
outside of the vehicle within 5 ft (1.5 m) of the
handle.
Lift The Door Handle To Unlock
NOTE:
NOTE:
The vehicle will only unlock the doors when a valid
Passive Entry key fob is detected inside the vehicle, and
no valid Passive Entry key fob is detected outside the
vehicle. The vehicle will not unlock the doors when any
of the following conditions are met:
Either the driver door only or all doors will unlock
when you grab hold of the front driver’s door handle,
depending on the selected setting in the Uconnect
If the vehicle is unlocked by the Passive Entry door
handle, and no door opens within 60 seconds,
the vehicle will relock and if equipped, the Vehicle
Security system will arm.

Frequency Operated Button Integrated Key (FOBIK-Safe)
The doors are manually locked using the door lock
button.
To Unlock From The Driver Side
To minimize the possibility of unintentionally locking a
Passive Entry key fob inside your vehicle, the Passive
Entry system is equipped with an automatic door
unlock feature.
With a valid Passive Entry key fob within 5 ft (1.5 m) of
the door handle, grab the handle to unlock the vehicle.
Grabbing the driver’s door handle will unlock all doors
and the liftgate automatically.
There is a valid Passive Entry key fob outside the
vehicle and within 5 ft (1.5 m) of either Passive Entry
door handle.
FOBIK-Safe only executes in vehicles with Passive Entry.
There are three situations that trigger a FOBIK-Safe
search in any Passive Entry vehicle:
To Lock The Vehicle’s Doors And Liftgate
With one of the vehicle’s Passive Entry key fobs within
5 ft (1.5 m) of either front door handles, pushing the

If the 12V battery of the car is flat, the doors can still
be opened or locked as they are equipped with an
additional power supply.
Opening the doors

Unlock the car using the mechanical key inside the

liftgate after about 5 seconds. The LED on the door
button and on the center dashboard will light up to
notify the locking. When the last door is closed the
car will be locked. The car can be locked from any
door, respecting the manoeuvre described above.
Push The Door Handle Button To Lock
Turn the pawl placed on the driver's door using the
mechanical key located inside the electronic key.
NOTE:
Press the internal door opening button three times in

the door handle without the vehicle unlocking.
Locking the doors
The doors can be locked following the emergency
locking manoeuvre. See the "Emergency closing and
opening" paragraph described above.
The Passive Entry system will not operate if the key
fob battery is depleted.
NOTE:
NOTE:
After locking the car by emergency manoeuvre, make
sure you do not leave the keys inside the car. The
emergency locking manoeuvre disables the FOBIK-Safe
function.
The vehicle doors can also be locked by using the lock
button located on the center dashboard.
If the doors are not locked using the emergency locking
procedure, repeat the operation for each single door.
