Proceed as follows:  
To open/close the window operate the  
handle on the door panel.

CLOSING  
Proceed as follows:  
hold the bonnet up with one hand  
and with the other remove rod (C)  
fig. 35 from recess (E) with a reverse  
movement to the opening, and fit it  
back into its catch (D);

lift the bonnet and at the same time  
release the support rod (C) fig. 35 from  
its catch (D), then insert the rod end  
into the recess (E) of the bonnet (large

20 centimetres from the engine  
compartment and let it drop. Make  
sure that the bonnet is completely  
closed and not only fastened by the  
locking device by trying to open it. If it  
is not perfectly closed, do not try to  
press the bonnet lid down but open it

For versions with soft touch electrical  
handle, the tailgate (when unlocked)  
can only be opened from outside the  
car using the electric opening handle

Therefore, make sure that the bonnet

immediately and close the bonnet in the  
correct manner.

The tailgate can be opened at any time,  
if the doors are unlocked. To open it,  
enable the handle, opening one of the  
front doors or unlocking the doors with  
the remote control or using the key  
without remote control.  
WARNING Always check that the  
bonnet is closed correctly to prevent  
it from opening while the vehicle is  
travelling.  
BOOT  
The luggage compartment unlocking is  
electrically operated and is deactivated  
when the car is in motion.  
WARNING The bonnet, bumper and  
headlights have been developed  
as an integral part of its passive  
safety system, to guarantee optimal  
protection for pedestrians and all  
occupants. Therefore, if they are  
replaced it is essential to use only  
original bodywork components,  
specifically designed for this car.

key in the latch on the tailgate handle
