ROOF LIGHT TIMING  
On certain versions, to facilitate getting  
in/out of the vehicle at night or in  
poorly-lit areas, two timed modes have  
been provided.

short side of the lens.

The removable ceiling light: it can  
only be switched on/off manually by  
pressing switch (A) fig. 25, with the  
ignition key in the MAR position.  
Before closing the rear door, ensure  
the light is off.  
WINDOW WASHING

WINDSCREEN WIPER /

This is located on the right side of the  
load compartment. It is a removable  
electric torch.

This operates only with the ignition key  
turned to MAR.  
To use the removable torch (A) fig. 26 ,  
push button (B) and remove the torch  
in the direction shown by the arrow.  
Then press switch (C) to switch the  
light on/off.  
The ring (A) fig. 27 or fig. 28 (where  
provided) can assume four different  
positions:

windscreen wiper off  
When the removable light is secured  
to its fixed support, the electric torch  
battery is automatically recharged.

The ceiling light is located on the  
left side of the boot. This switches  
on automatically when the luggage  
compartment is opened and switches  
off when it is closed. The light switches

Pull the stalk towards the steering  
wheel (unstable position) to operate the  
windscreen washer.

Keeping the stalk pulled for more than  
half a second, with just one movement  
it is possible to operate the washer jet  
and the windscreen wiper at the same  
time.

The windscreen wiper stops working  
three strokes after the stalk is released.  
A further stroke after approx. 6  
seconds completes the windscreen  
wiper cycle.  
The sensitivity of the rain sensor can  
be adjusted to 4 levels through the  
Setup menu (see paragraph “Display”  
in the “Knowing the instrument panel”  
section).

This is located behind the interior  
rear view mirror, in contact with the  
windscreen fig. 29 and can detect the  
presence of rain and, consequently,  
manage the cleaning of the windscreen  
in accordance with the amount of  
water on the screen.  
Move the stalk upwards (unstable  
position) to limit operation to the time  
for which the stalk is held in this  
position. When released, the stalk will  
return to its default position and the  
windscreen wiper will be automatically  
stopped.  
WARNING Keep the glass in the sensor  
area clean.  
Deactivation  
Move the stalk ring nut away from  
the position  
or from the AUTO  
With the ring (A) in position fig. 28  
(where provided), the windscreen wiper  
will automatically adapt operating  
speed to the speed of the car.  
Activation  
position (where provided) or turn the  
ignition key to STOP.  
The sensor is activated when the ring  
(A) is turned to AUTO fig. 28 (where  
provided): the windscreen wiper  
stroke frequency is thus adjusted in

20) Make sure the device is turned off  
whenever the windscreen glass must be  
cleaned.  
This operates only with the ignition key  
turned to MAR. Turn ring nut (B) fig. 27  
or fig. 28 from position O to position  
to operate the rear window wiper as  
follows:  
IMPORTANT  
in intermittent mode when the  
windscreen wiper is not operating;  
in synchronous mode (at half the  
speed of the windscreen wiper) when  
the windscreen wiper is operating;  
in continuous mode with reverse  
gear engaged and the control active.  
With the windscreen wiper on and  
reverse gear engaged, rear window  
wiping will be continuous.  
5) Do not use the windscreen or rear  
screen wiper to free the windscreen or rear  
screen of accumulated layers of snow or  
ice. In such conditions, the windscreen or  
rear screen wiper may be subjected to  
excessive stress and the motor cut-out  
switch may trip, preventing operation for a  
few seconds. If operation is not restored  
(even after turning the key and restarting  
the engine), contact a Fiat Dealership.  
6) Do not operate the windscreen or rear  
screen wiper with the blades lifted from the  
windscreen or rear screen.  
7) Make sure the device is switched off  
whenever the windscreen or rear screen  
must be cleaned.  
8) Do not activate the rain sensor when  
washing the car in an automatic car wash.  
9) Make sure the device is switched off if  
there is ice on the windscreen glass.  
Pushing the stalk towards the  
dashboard (rocking position) will  
activate the rear window washer jet.  
Keep the stalk pushed for more than  
half a second to activate the rear  
window wiper as well. Releasing the  
stalk will activate the smart washing  
function, as described for the  
windscreen wiper.  
The function stops when the stalk is  
released.
