damage may occur to the tailgate lift
cylinders and attaching hardware if the
tailgate is not closed prior to driving.
Always keep the tailgate lid completely
closed whilst the vehicle is in motion. If
it is left open or ajar, poisonous exhaust
gases containing carbon monoxide
(CO) may enter the vehicle and serious
illness or death may result.
Closing the tailgate
To close the tailgate, lower and push
down the tailgate firmly. Make sure that
the tailgate is securely latched.
WARNING
Rear cargo area
Occupants should never ride in the
rear cargo area where no restraints are
available. To avoid injury in the event of
an accident or sudden stops, occupants
should always be properly restrained.
WARNING
Make sure your hands, feet and other
parts of your body are safely out of the
way before closing the tailgate.
WARNING
CAUTION
Make sure nothing is near the tailgate
latch and striker whilst closing the
tailgate. It may damage the tailgate's
latch.
WARNING
Exhaust fumes
If you drive with the tailgate opened,
you will draw dangerous exhaust
fumes into your vehicle which can
cause serious injury or death to vehicle
occupants.
If you must drive with the tailgate
opened, keep the air vents and all
windows open so that additional
outside air comes into the vehicle.
OBC3050026
Do not hold the part (gas lifter) that
supports the tailgate. Be aware that
the deformation of the part may cause
vehicle damage and a risk of safety
accident.

3. Pull the fuel filler door out (1) to fully
open.
4. To remove the fuel tank cap (2), turn
it counterclockwise. You may hear a
hissing noise as the pressure inside
the tank equalizes.
śꢀ Before touching the fuel nozzle, you
should eliminate the potential build-
up of static electricity by touching
a metal part of the vehicle, a safe
distance away from the fuel filler
neck, nozzle, or other gas source,
with your bare hand.
śꢀ Do not use mobile phones whilst
refuelling. Electric current and/or
electronic interference from mobile
phones can potentially ignite fuel
vapours and cause a fire.
5. Place the cap on the fuel filler door
(3).

śꢀ Do not get back into a vehicle
once you have begun refuelling.
You can generate a build-up of
static electricity by touching,
rubbing or sliding against any item
or fabric capable of producing
static electricity. Static electricity
discharge can ignite fuel vapours
causing a fire. If you must re-enter
the vehicle, you should once again
eliminate potentially dangerous
static electricity discharge by
touching a metal part of the vehicle,
away from the fuel filler neck, nozzle
or other petrol source, with your bare
hand.

causing a fire.
śꢀ Do not use matches or a lighter and
do not smoke or leave a lit cigarette
in your vehicle whilst at a gas station,
especially during refuelling.
śꢀ Do not over-fill or top-off your
vehicle tank, which can cause petrol
spillage.
śꢀ If a fire breaks out during refuelling,
leave the vicinity of the vehicle, and
immediately contact the manager
of the gas station and then contact
WKHꢀORFDOꢀILUHꢀGHSDUWPHQWꢁꢀ)ROORZꢀDQ\ꢀ
safety instructions they provide.
śꢀ If pressurized fuel sprays out, it can
cover your clothes or skin and thus
subject you to the risk of fire and
burns. Always remove the fuel cap
carefully and slowly. If the cap is
venting fuel or if you hear a hissing
sound, wait until the condition stops
before completely removing the cap.
śꢀ Always check that the fuel cap is
installed securely to prevent fuel
spillage in the event of an accident.
Information

śꢀ When using an approved portable
fuel container, be sure to place
the container on the ground prior
to refuelling. Static electricity
discharge from the container can
ignite fuel vapours causing a fire.
Once refuelling has begun, contact
between your bare hand and the
vehicle should be maintained until
the filling is complete.
