For replacement, you must use a CR2032
lithium battery or equivalent.
CAUTION
D Swallowing the battery or any of its
components may cause injury or
death.
D Special care should be taken to pre-
vent anyone from swallowing the re-
moved transmitter battery or compo-
nents.
Vehicles with standard-type ignition switch
NOTICE
D When replacing the transmitter bat-
tery, be careful not to lose the compo-
nents.
D Replace the battery only with the
same or equivalent type recom-
mended by a Toyota dealer.
D Dispose of used batteries according
to the local laws.
Replace the transmitter battery by following
these procedures:
Vehicles with smart entry and start system
Pressing the alarm switch for 1 second or
more sounds the horn intermittently.
The alarm switch is used to deter vehicle
theft when you witness anyone attempting to
break into or damage your vehicle.
The alarm will last for 30 seconds. To stop
the alarm, press any button on the wireless
remote control or set the ignition switch to
ON.
This alarm function can be disabled. For de-
tails, contact your Toyota dealer.
1. Using a coin or equivalent, open the trans-
mitter case.
