Special driving situations
Overtaking
If you are indicating left(or right when driving on the left)to overtake, the ACC accelerates the vehicle and reduces
the gap to the vehicle in front. The system will not exceed the speed you have stored.
If the ACC has not detected a vehicle in front once you have changed lanes, the ACC will accelerate the vehicle up to
the selected speed.
The overtake function is not available in all countries.
Stop-and-go traffic
ACC can brake the vehicle to a standstill and hold it stationary. The ACC remains active; the instrument cluster will
display ACC ready for a few seconds.
In vehicles which have Travel Assist, you can extend this time by continuing to hold the steering wheel.
As long as ACC remains active, the vehicle will move off again automatically as soon as the vehicle in front moves off
(depending on the vehicle equipment level and not available in all countries.)
Extending or reactivating the period in which the vehicle is ready to pull away:
—Press the
button.
Vehicles with Travel Assist: Alternatively, take hold of the steering wheel again.
Pulling away when the ACC is no longer ready and the vehicle in front is already a long way ahead:
—Press the
button or briefly depress the accelerator.
The ACC remains inactive in the following situations:
—The vehicle is stationary for several minutes.
—A vehicle door is opened.
—The ignition is switched off.
WARNING
If the message ACC ready appears on the instrument cluster display and the vehicle in front moves off, your vehicle
will move off automatically. In some cases, obstacles in the vehicle's path may not be detected. This can result in
serious injury and accidents.
● Always check the road every time the vehicle starts to pull away and brake the vehicle if necessary.
