The high beam assistant automatically avoids
dazzling oncoming traffic and vehicles travelling
in the same direction. In addition, the high beam
assistant detects which areas are illuminated
and switches the high beam off, e.g. when
driving through towns.
Switching off the dynamic high beam
assistant

In the following cases, the main beam must be
switched off manually because the main beam
assistant will not switch off the main beam in
time or not at all:
The dynamic high beam assistant illuminates
the road and its edges to the maximum. At the
same time, it prevents glare from vehicles in the
same direction and from oncoming traffic. With
the aid of a camera, the system detects other
road users and their distance to the vehicle and
covers a certain area of the headlamps. If it is
no longer possible to avoid dazzling other road
users, the main beam is automatically switched
off.
– On insufficiently illuminated roads with
highly reflective signs.
– For road users with insufficient lighting, e.g.
pedestrians or cyclists.
– In sharp bends, when oncoming traffic is
partially obscured, on steep ascents or
descents.
Activating and deactivating the dynamic high
beam assistant in the infotainment system

– On roads with oncoming traffic and a central
crash barrier if the driver has a clear view
over the barrier, e.g. the driver of a lorry.
