Operate as follows when the ignition  
switch or ENGINE START/STOP button is  
ON.  
僅 MIST: For a single wiping cycle, move  
the lever to this position and release it.  
The wipers will operate continuously if  
the lever is held in this position.  
Auto control (if equipped)  
僅 OFF: Wiper is not in operation  
僅 INT: Wiper operates intermittently at  
the same wiping intervals. Use this  
mode in light rain or mist. To vary the  
speed setting, turn the speed control  
knob.

The rain sensor (A) located on the upper  
end of the windshield glass senses the  
amount of rainfall and controls the wip

or ice on the windshield, defrost the  
windshield for about 10 minutes, or until

the snow and/or ice before using the  
wiper and washer, it may damage the  
wiper and washer system.  
To vary the speed setting, turn the  
speed control knob (B).  
If the wiper switch is set in AUTO mode  
when the ignition switch or ENGINE  
START/STOP button is ON, the wiper will  
operate once to perform a self-check of  
the system. Set the wiper to OFF position  
when the wiper is not in use.

Do not use the washer in freezing tem

peratures without first warming the  
windshield with the defrosters; the  
washer solution could freeze on the  
windshield and obscure your vision,  
resulting in an accident.  
When the ignition switch or ENGINE  
START/STOP button is ON and the wind  
shield wiper switch is placed in the  
AUTO mode, use caution in the following  
situations to avoid any injury to the  
hands or other parts of the body:

僅 Do not touch the upper end of the  
windshield glass facing the rain sen  
sor.  
INFORMATION  
-
If you operate the wipers while driving  
on snowy roads, the wipers may stop  
due to snow buildup on your windshield.  
This is normal and not a failure because  
it is one of our safety features to prevent

aged if the switch is set in the AUTO  
mode while washing the vehicle.

The reservoir filler neck is located in the  
front of the engine compartment on the  
passenger side.  
僅 Do not remove the sensor cover  
located on the upper end of the pas  
senger side windshield glass. Damage  
to system parts could occur and may

washer pump, do not operate the  
washer when the fluid reservoir is  
empty.  
僅 When starting the vehicle in winter,  
set the wiper switch in the OFF posi

tion. Otherwise, wipers may operate  
and ice may damage the windshield  
wiper blades. Always remove all snow  
and ice and defrost the windshield

The heated washer nozzle will turn on

in ON position or when the engine is  
running in following conditions:  
The rear window wiper and washer  
switch is located at the end of the wiper  
and washer switch lever.  
僅 Turn the switch to the desired position  
to operate the rear wiper and washer.  
僅 Turns ON when the outside tempera

ture is below 5 °C, and OFF when it is  
over 10 °C.  
僅 The washer fluid defreezing speed  
may be slower when the ignition  
switch or ENGINE START/STOP but  
ton is in ON position, than compared  
to when the engine is running.

rear wipers several times.

washer fluid will defrost approxi

mately after 5~10 minutes.  
僅 If the engine has been started within  
the operating temperature, the  
heated nozzle remains ON even  
approximately after 20 minutes.
