CARD: general information (1/3)  
Battery life  
Make sure that the correct battery type  
is being used, and that the battery is in  
good condition and inserted correctly.  
Its service life is approximately two  
years: it should be replaced when the  
message “Keycard Battery Low” ap-  
pears on the instrument panel 5.24.

Remote engine start-up  
(depending on vehicle)  
Press button 5 to activate the remote  
engine start-up. 2.6.  
1 Unlocking the doors and tailgate.  
2 Locking all doors and tailgate.  
3 Locking/unlocking the boot only.  
4 Switching-on the lighting remotely,  
or, depending on the vehicle,  
card operating range  
The card is used for:  
– locking/unlocking the doors and tail-  
gate (doors, tailgate) and the fuel  
filler flap (see the following pages);  
– switching on the vehicle lighting re-  
motely (refer to the following pages);  
– automatic remote closing of the elec-  
tric windows 3.20;  
This varies according to the environ-  
ment: take care not to accidentally lock  
or unlock the vehicle by inadvertently  
pressing the buttons on the card.  
Note: if a door or the boot is open or not  
properly shut, locking is not carried out.  
A beep sounds and the hazard warning  
lights and side repeaters do not flash.

When the battery is flat, you can still  
lock/unlock and start your vehicle.

Interference  
Interference by factors in the immediate  
vicinity (external installations or the use  
of equipment operating on the same  
frequency as the card) may disrupt its  
operation.  
Advice

Avoid leaving the card in hot, cold or  
humid areas.  
Do not keep the card in a place  
where it could be bent or dam-  
aged accidentally, such as in a back  
pocket of a garment.  
Driver’s responsibility  
when parking or stopping  
the vehicle  
Never leave an animal,  
child or adult who is not self-suffi-  
cient alone in your vehicle, even for  
a short time.  
They may pose a risk to themselves  
or to others by starting the engine,  
activating equipment such as the  
electric windows or locking the  
doors, for example.  
Distance lighting function  
Pressing button 4 switches on the  
dipped beam headlights and the exte-  
rior lighting for approximately 20 sec-  
onds. This can be used, for example,  
to identify the vehicle from a distance  
when parked in a car park.  
Replacement: need for an  
additional card  
Also, in hot and/or sunny weather,  
please remember that the tempera-  
ture inside the passenger compart-  
ment increases very quickly.  
If you lose your card or require an-  
other, you can obtain one from an  
authorised dealer.  
Pressing and holding the 4 button for  
approximately two seconds activates  
the exterior lighting and a sound is  
emitted.  
If a card is replaced, it will be neces-  
sary to take the vehicle and all its  
cards to an approved Dealer to ini-  
tialise the system.  
RISK OF DEATH OR SERIOUS  
INJURY.  
Note: pressing button 4 again switches  
off the lighting.  
You may use up to four cards per  
vehicle.

Insert the strap into the 8 component  
and pass the end of the strap through  
the buckle.  
Fitting a strap 7  
Slide the rear casing 5 downwards  
while pressing on zone A.  
Position the strap at the 6 opening and  
close the cartridge.  
Note: check that the diameter of the 7  
strap cord fits the 6 opening.
