Driving -> Start-Stop system for Your Cupra Leon 4 Door First Generation (2020-2026)

Start and driving

Description and operation  
Note  
The Start-Stop system helps you to save fuel  
and reduce CO2 emissions.  
Information about the operating mode that  
is currently active is displayed on the in-  
strument cluster display, along with the  
charge level of the high-voltage battery.  
It lights up

The Start-Stop system is not available or has been dis-  
connected.  
In Start-Stop mode, the engine will automat-  
ically switch off when the vehicle stops or is  
stopping. The ignition remains switched on.  
The engine automatically switches back on  
when required.

Driving  
Stopping and starting the engine  
The engine does not turn off for various

tomatic gearbox  
The Start-Stop system must always be  
switched off when driving through flooded

in D, N and S, as well as in Tiptronic mode.  
When the parking lock button P is activated,  
the engine will also remain off when you re-  
move your foot from the brake. In order to  
start the engine up again the accelerator  
must be pressed, or another gear engaged  
or the brake released.

Note  
You can control whether the engine  
should switch off or not by reducing or in-  
creasing the brake force applied. While the  
vehicle remains stopped, the engine will  
not stop if the brake pedal is slightly press-  
ed, in traffic jams with frequent stopping  
and starting for example. As soon as strong  
pressure is applied to the brake pedal, the  
engine will stop.  
If the selector lever is placed in R while stop-  
ped, the engine will start up again.
