vehicle is in motion. Apply the parking brake when
exiting the vehicle in P (Park).
Auto Park Brake: if the vehicle speed is below 2 mph
(3 km/h), the EPB will automatically engage when
the transmission is in P (Park) position.
WARNING!
the key is removed, the transmission is locked
in PARK, securing the vehicle against unwanted
movement.
When parking on flat surfaces, you can first shift the
transmission to P (Park) and then apply the parking
brake.
Safe Hold: automatically engages the EPB if the
vehicle is left unsecured while the ignition is in ON/
RUN. The parking brake will automatically engage if
all of the following conditions are met:
When leaving the vehicle, always remove the
ignition key and lock your vehicle.
When parking on sloping roads, apply the parking brake
before shifting the transmission to P (Park). For added
safety, turn the front wheels towards the kerb.
Never leave children alone in a vehicle, or with
access to an unlocked vehicle. Allowing children
to be in a vehicle unattended is dangerous for
a number of reasons. A child or others could be
seriously or fatally injured. Children should be
warned not to touch the parking brake, brake
pedal or the transmission range buttons.
The vehicle is at a standstill.
NOTE:
There is no attempt to press the brake pedal or
accelerator pedal.
Refer to the gear position shownon the instrument
panel display and check that it indicates P (Park).
The seat belt is unbuckled.
The driver door is open.
NOTE:
Never use the PARK position as a substitute for
the park brake. Always apply the park brake fully
when exiting the vehicle to guard against vehicle
movement and possible injury or damage.
Do not leave the ignition key in or near the vehicle
(or in a location accessible to children). A child
could operate power windows, other controls, or
move the vehicle.
SINGLE SPEED TRANSMISSION
Your vehicle uses a Single-Speed Transmission to direct
the output from the electric motor. The single-speed
transmission is operated using push-buttons instead
of a traditional gear selector. The push-buttons are
located on the lower dashboard.
Your vehicle could move and injure you and others if
it is not in PARK. Check by trying to move the gear
selector out of PARK with the brake pedal released.
GEAR RANGES
Push the desired button to shift into gear.
Make sure the transmission is in PARK before exiting
the vehicle.
NOTE:
WARNING!
It is dangerous to shift out of PARK or NEUTRAL
if your foot is not firmly pressing the brake pedal.
The vehicle could accelerate quickly forward or in
reverse. You could lose control of the vehicle and hit
someone or something. Only shift the transmission
into gear when your foot is firmly pressing the brake
pedal.
The brake pedal must be depressed to select a
transmission gear.
Only place the transmission into gear when your
foot is firmly pressing the brake pedal.
After selecting any gear, wait a moment to allow the
selected gear to engage before accelerating.
Unintended movement of a vehicle could injure
those in or near the vehicle. As with all vehicles,
you should never exit a vehicle while the vehicle is
in “READY” mode. Before exiting a vehicle, always
apply the parking brake, shift the transmission
into PARK, and remove the ignition key. Once

running or the propulsion system is active. Before
exiting a vehicle, always come to a complete stop,
then apply the park brake, shift the transmission
into PARK, turn the ignition OFF, and remove the
key fob. When the ignition is in the OFF mode, the
transmission is locked in PARK, securing the vehicle
against unwanted movement.
WARNING!
Driver's door open
Do not coast in NEUTRAL and never turn off the
ignition to coast down a hill. These are unsafe
practices that limit your response to changing traffic
or road conditions. You might lose control of the
vehicle and have a collision.
Car speed is below 3 km/h (2 mph).
Operation with the ignition device to the OFF position
The Auto Park function is activated when the
transmission is in position D (Drive), N (Neutral) or R
(Reverse), the car speed is less than 3 km/h and the
user requests the car to be turned off by turning the
ignition device to the OFF position.
When leaving the vehicle, always remove the ignition
key and lock your vehicle.
CAUTION!
Never leave children alone in a vehicle, or with
access to an unlocked vehicle. Allowing children
to be in a vehicle unattended is dangerous for
a number of reasons. A child or others could
be seriously or fatally injured. Children should be
warned not to touch the parking brake, brake pedal
or the transmission range buttons.
Towing the vehicle, coasting, or driving for any other
reason with the transmission in NEUTRAL can cause
severe transmission damage. Refer to “Recreational
Towing” in “Starting And Operating” and “Towing A
Disabled Vehicle” in “In Case Of Emergency” for
further information.
Gear engagement inhibition
This system prevents shifting the transmission from
position P (Park) or N (Neutral) if the brake pedal has
not been previously pressed. With ignition device in the
ON/RUN position: the brake pedal must be pressed in
order to shift the transmission from position P (Park) to
positions R, N or D; to shift the transmission from
position N (Neutral) to positions R or D the brake pedal
must be pressed.

The function automatically put the transmission in P
(Park) if there is any indication that the driver may
leave the car while the transmission is in D (Drive), N
(Neutral) or R (Reverse).
The car can be moved backwards in this position.
Select position R (Reverse) only with the car at a
standstill.
To stop the engine at speeds higher than 2.5 km/h hold
the button of the ignition device pressed or press it
three times in a row within a few seconds. The ignition
device is in the ON/RUN position.
Operation with the ignition device to the ON/RUN
position
N (Neutral)
You can start the car with this gear engaged. Apply the
parking brake and move the transmission to position P

transmission is in position D (Drive), N (Neutral) or R
(Reverse) and the following conditions are detected:
The E-Mode Selector is an “hold to operate” type which
returns to the central position when released.
Engagement of the required driving mode is indicated
on the instrument panel display with a dedicated
message.
