back against the set driving direction and
provides drive-off support.
Driving off
Overview
To drive off after stopping while drive-ready
state is on, press the accelerator pedal.
The parking brake is released automatically.
Depending on the vehicle load or driving
situation, the vehicle may roll back slightly.
Auto Start/Stop function
The Start/Stop switch is labeled EN-
GINE and located on the switch clus-
ter.
Principle
The Auto Start/Stop function helps save
fuel. The system switches off the engine
during a stop, for instance in traffic jam or
at traffic lights. Drive-ready state remains
on even if the engine stops. The engine
starts automatically for driving off.
Turning on the drive-ready state
Drive-ready state turns on when the Start/
Stop switch is pushed while depressing the
brake pedal. Pressing the Start/Stop switch
again turns drive-ready state back off, and
turns standby back on.
The Auto Start/Stop function switches to
standby whenever the engine is started us-
ing the Start/Stop button.
