CONTROL BUTTONS AND MICROPHONE

Instrument panel:

Bluetooth^®is a wireless radio communication stan-

dard. This system offers a hands-free facility for your

cellular phone to enhance driving comfort.

To use the Bluetooth^®Hands-Free Phone System,

your cellular phone must first be setup. For details, see

“Bluetooth^®settings” (P.4-43). Once it has been

setup, the hands-free mode is automatically activated

on the registered celllular phone (via Bluetooth^®) when

it comes into range.

A notification message appears on the audio display

when the phone is connected, when an incoming call

is being received, as well as when a call is initiated.

The hands-free mode can be operated using the

button on the instrument panel.

Bluetooth^®wireless connection, the battery power

of the cellular phone may discharge quicker than

usual. The Bluetooth^®Hands-Free Phone System

cannot charge cellular phones.

Some devices require the user to accept con-

nections to other Bluetooth^®devices. If your

phone does not connect automatically to the

system, consult the phone’s Owner’s Manual for

details on device operation.

You can connect up to 5 different Bluetooth^®cellular

phones to the in-vehicle phone module. However, you

can talk on only one cellular phone at a time.

Free Phone System. If you have a compatible Blue-

tooth^®enabled cellular phone, you can set up the

wireless connection between your cellular phone and

the in-vehicle phone module. With Bluetooth^®wireless

technology, you can make or receive a hands-free

telephone call with your cellular phone in the vehicle.

— Your vehicle is outside of the cellular service

area.

— Your vehicle is in an area where it is difficult to

receive a cellular signal; such as in a tunnel, in

an underground parking garage, near a tall

building or in a mountainous area.

Once your cellular phone is connected to the in-

vehicle phone module, no other phone connecting

procedure is required. Your phone is automatically

connected with the in-vehicle phone module when the

ignition switch is placed in the “ON” position with the

previously connected cellular phone turned on and

carried in the vehicle.

Choosing a language

You can interact with the Bluetooth^®Hands-Free

Phone System using several languages that are

While a cellular phone is connected through the

Bluetooth^®wireless connection, the battery power

of the cellular phone may discharge quicker than

usual. The Bluetooth^®Hands-Free Phone System

cannot charge cellular phones.

Some cellular phones or other devices may cause

interference or a buzzing noise to come from the

audio system speakers. Storing the device in a

different location may reduce or eliminate the

noise.

To scroll quickly through the list, touch the “A-Z”

key in the upper right corner of the screen. Turn

the ENTER/SETTING button to choose a letter or

number and then push the ENTER/SETTING

level commands with the main menu command on the

MAKING A CALL

The connecting procedure must be performed

when the vehicle is stationary. If the vehicle

starts moving during the procedure, the proce-

dure will be cancelled.

To make a call, follow the procedure below:

displayed on your Bluetooth^®device. If the PIN is

displayed on your Bluetooth^®device, select “Yes”

to complete the pairing process.

You can use voice commands to operate various

Bluetooth^®Hands-Free Phone System features using

the Voice Recognition system. For more details, see

“Voice Recognition system” (P.4-56).

“Redial”: Dial the last outgoing call from the

vehicle.

a keypad displayed on the screen. For informa-

tion on how to use the touchscreen, see “How

to use the touchscreen” in this section.

While using the voice recognition system, tilt the

switch up or down to manually control the phone

system.

RECEIVING A CALL

When a call is placed to the connected phone, the

display will change to phone mode.

PHONEBOOK

To access the vehicle phonebook:

While using the voice recognition system, the system

voice can be interrupted to allow the user to speak

commands. While the system is speaking, push the

button on the steering wheel. The system voice

will stop and a tone will be heard. After the tone, speak

desired command (displayed on the touchscreen).
