the engine or the ignition on, press

the button 2 to engage the position

P. The warning light on button 2

lights up orange once the park posi-

tion P on the gearbox is engaged.

With the vehicle stationary and the

engine running, to engage N posi-

tion, shift the selector lever 1 a notch

forwards or backwards according to

the gear engaged.

Move the selector lever 1 one or two

notches forwards or backwards to

engage the desired position (R, N, D

or B), depending on the vehicle, then

release the lever and it will return to

its stable position.

Accelerating and overtaking

With the vehicle stationary and the

engine running, shift the selector

lever 1 two notches backwards to

engage D position.

With the vehicle stationary and the

engine running, shift the selector

lever 1 two notches forwards to en-

gage R position.

Depress the accelerator pedal

briskly and fully (so that it goes be-

yond the kickdown point).

If one of the conditions is not ap-

plied, D flashes for around five sec-

onds and the "Press brake" mes-

sage is displayed on the instrument

panel for approximately 15 seconds.

In the majority of driving conditions,

you will no longer have to use your

gear lever: the gears change "auto-

matically", at the right time, to a suit-

able engine speed because the au-

tomated system takes the vehicle's

load, road profile and the selected

driving style into account.

Note: with the engine running and

the vehicle travelling at between 0

and 5 mph (0 and 8 km/h), in N or R

position, you will have to press the

brake pedal in order to engage D po-

sition. This is useful during parking

manoeuvres requiring a number of

alternate forward and reverse

movements.

If the brake pedal is not pressed, a

beep will sound, the R position flash-

es for around five seconds in the grid

displayed on the instrument panel

and the "Press brake" message is

displayed for approximately 15 sec-

onds.

Note: with the engine running and

any time for overtaking purposes, by

pressing the left-hand paddle.

Driving in mode B

This mode enables driving with

greater regenerative engine brak-

ing. When releasing the accelerator

pedal, the vehicle uses regenerative

braking to slow down.

Thus the electric motor generates a

higher electrical current which en-

ables the traction battery to be

recharged.

In B mode, the regenerative braking

performance will be reduced if the

battery is cold or fully charged.

The engine brake should

under no circumstances

be used as a substitute for

the brake pedal.

Economical driving

When driving, always leave the lever

in position D, keeping the accelera-

tor pedal lightly depressed to ensure

the "temporary" manual mode

Gear change paddles 8 and 9

can be used to force gear shifting by

briefly pressing one of the two pad-

dles. Driving mode D and the en-

gaged gear appear on the instru-

ment panel. The letter D and the low-

er arrow appear brighter on the indi-

cator light 3 .

When driving in D position you can

mud) make it difficult to stay in auto-

matic mode, depending on the vehi-

cle, it is advisable to switch to manu-

al mode using the paddles. This will

prevent the "automatic gearbox"

from changing gears repeatedly

when driving uphill, and permit en-

gine braking on long descents.

For safety reasons, do

not switch off the igni-

tion before the vehicle

has come to a com-

plete standstill.

Maintenance period

Refer to the maintenance document

proved Dealer to check whether the
