The fixed gauge includes coloured

jectory of the trailer towbar accord-

ing to the steering wheel position. It

allows the driver to position the tow-

bar as close as possible to the

trailer's towing head.

When reverse gear is engaged, the

camera 1 located at the rear of the

vehicle transmits a view of the area

behind the vehicle to the multimedia

display 2 accompanied by three

guide lines 3 , 4 or 5 (fixed, moving

and trailer guide lines).

This system uses several guidelines

for its operation (mobile for trajecto-

ry and fixed for distance). When the

red zone is reached, use the bumper

image to stop accurately.

Operating faults

When reverse gear is engaged, if the

system detects an operating fault, a

black screen is displayed temporari-

ly on the multimedia screen 2 .

This may be caused by a fault af-

fecting the camera or screen (clear-

ness, fixed image, delayed commu-

nication etc.).

Make sure that the cam-

era is not obscured (by

dirt, mud, snow, conden-

sation etc.).

screen are actually closer on the

For example, if the screen displays

an object at G , the actual distance

of the object is at F .

Position H seems further than posi-

tion J on the screen. However, posi-

tion H is at the same distance as po-

sition K .

The trajectory indicated by the fixed

and mobile guidelines do not take in-

to account the height of the object.

So there is a risk that the vehicle

may collide with the object when re-

versing towards position K .

Introduction

Using information from cameras 1 , 2

and 3 located in the front bumper,

door mirrors and on the tailgate, as

well as ultrasonic detectors 4 locat-

ed in the vehicle bumpers, the fea-

ture assists with difficult manoeu-

vres (e.g. parking) by displaying the

vehicle surroundings.

– bird's eye view: using cameras 1 , 2

and 3 ;

Operation

The cameras transmit four separate

views to the multimedia screen 5 .

They enable you to view the vehicle

surroundings:

– front view: using camera 1 ;

The "Front side view on passenger

side" is transmitted to the multime-

dia screen with fixed guide lines to

measure the distances.

Fixed guidelines 10 , 11 and 12

Fixed guideline 10 shows the front

section of the vehicle.

Fixed guideline 12 shows the vehicle

width including door mirrors.

The fixed guidelines 11 are shown in

green and dotted. These are exten-

sions of fixed guidelines 10 and 12 .

Depending on the vehicle, you can

use the multimedia screen to

change the bird's eye view to the

front side view. Please refer to the

multimedia instructions for further

information.

The bird's eye view is a combined

representation from cameras 1 , 2

and 3 .

It displays a view of the top of the ve-

hicle and its surroundings.

This can be used to confirm a view of

the vehicle position in relation to its

immediate surroundings (front, rear

and side).

Manual mode

To activate manual mode, with the

vehicle stationary and the engine

on, from the "Vehicle" world on your

multimedia screen 5 , press the

"360° camera" menu and the front

view and bird's eye view will appear

on the multimedia screen.

Obstacle detection

While the system is activated, if the

"Park Assist" function detects one or

more obstacles around the vehicle,

the indicators 13 light up:

Manual mode is deactivated:

– when the vehicle speed moving

forward reaches 6 mph (10 km/h);

– when the gear lever has not been

used for approximately three min-

utes.

– on the bird's eye view;

– on the front side view on the pas-

senger side (depending on the vehi-

cle).

In addition to the audible warning,

these indicators show the proximity

of obstacles via different colours:

– Green: obstacle between approxi-

mately 50 and 70 cm;

– Yellow: obstacle between approxi-

mately 30 and 50 cm;

Automatic mode

With the vehicle stationary and the

engine running, automatic mode is

activated when the reverse gear is

engaged. The rear view and the

bird's eye view appear on the multi-

media screen 5 .

– Red: obstacle within approximate-

ly 30 cm.

These indicators also show the loca-

tions where obstacles are detected,

Ensure that the area around the ul-

trasonic sensors indicated by the ar-

rows 1 is not obscured (by dirt, mud,

snow, a badly fitted/attached num-

ber plate), impacted, modified (in-

cluding paintwork) or obstructed by

any accessory fitted to the rear and,

depending on the vehicle, to the

front or sides of your vehicle.

Ultrasonic sensors, indicated by ar-

rows 1 , are fitted in the bumpers to

detect obstacles near the vehicle.

The function alerts the driver via au-

dible signals and a display repre-

senting the area where the obstacle

was detected.

Depending on the equipment, the

system detects obstacles behind, in

front and to the sides of the vehicle.

The Park Assist system is only acti-

vated when the vehicle is driven at a

speed below approximately 6 mph

(10 km/h).

The display 2 shows the vehicle sur-

obstacles located near the rear and,

depending on the equipment, near

the front and sides of the vehicle.

The audible signal frequency will in-

crease as the vehicle approaches on

obstacle, until it becomes a solid

beep at approximately 20 cm for an

obstacle detected on the sides and

approximately 30 cm for an obsta-

cle detected to the front or rear.

The area where the obstacle has

been detected is displayed (display

C ). Depending on the vehicle, the

area is displayed in green, orange (or

yellow depending on the vehicle) or

roundings and emits beeps.

Depending on the equipment, it may

be necessary to travel a few metres

before the side detection is activat-

ed.

If all areas have a grey background,

the whole area around the vehicle is

being monitored:

– Display A : analysis of vehicle sur-

roundings in progress;

– Display B : analysis of vehicle sur-

roundings complete.

Depending on the direction of the

wheels, the system determines the

trajectory of the vehicle and notifies

the driver if there is a risk or not of a

collision with an obstacle 3 to the

side of the vehicle.

If a side obstacle is detected:

– the beeps become faster and then

sound continuously as the obstacle

gets nearer. The area where the ob-

stacle 3 has been detected is dis-

played (display D );

beep will sound when approaching

the obstacle. Depending on the vehi-

cle, the area where the obstacle 3

– In the event of an impact, the alignment of the ultrasonic sensors may be altered and its operation may con-

sequently be affected. Deactivate the function and consult an authorised dealer.

– Any work in the area where the ultrasonic sensors are located (repairs, replacements etc.) must be carried out by a

qualified professional.

Only an authorised dealer is qualified to service the system.

System disturbance

Some conditions can disrupt or damage the system operation, for example:

– poor weather conditions (rain, snow, hail, black ice, etc.);

– some types of noise (motorcycle, lorry, pneumatic drill, etc.);

– fitting an non-compatible towing ball or hook.

Limitation of the system operation

– The ultrasonic detection zones should be kept clean and free of any modifications in order to ensure the

proper operation of the system.

– Small objects moving close to the vehicle (motorcycles, bicycles, pedestrians, etc.) may not be recognised by the

system.

– The system may not detect obstacles that are too close to the vehicle.

– The system may not provide a warning when the other vehicles or obstacles are travelling at a significantly differ-

ent speed.

Switching on

trasonic detectors installed in the

vehicle bumpers help to find acces-

sible parking spaces and assist the

parking manoeuvre.

Remove your hands from the steer-

ing wheel, you only control:

– the accelerator pedal;

– the brake pedal;

– the gear lever.

At any time, you can regain control

by using the steering wheel.

Choice of manoeuvre

Operation

The system can perform three types

of manoeuvre:

– parking the vehicle in a parallel or

perpendicular parking space;

– moving out of a parallel parking

space.

From the multimedia screen 4 , se-

lect the manoeuvre to carry out us-

ing the display.

Note: when starting the vehicle, or

after having successfully completed

parallel parking using the system,

the default manoeuvre proposed by

the system is assistance in exiting a

parallel parking space.

This function is an ad-

ditional driving aid.

Therefore, it can under

no circumstances re-

place the driver's vigilance and

responsibility during manoeu-

vres (the driver must always be

ready to brake).

When manoeuvring,

the steering wheel may

turn quickly: do not put

your hands inside and

make sure that nothing is

caught inside.

With the vehicle stationary or driving

at less than approximately 19 mph

(30 km/h), there are several ways to

access the function:

than 19 mph (30 km/h), the system

looks for available parking spaces

on both sides of the vehicle.

Once a space has been found, it is

displayed on the multimedia screen

Note: clean the door mirrors regular-
