Removing and installing load area light  
The illustrations show the removal and installation for the right  
load area light -B-.  
The removal and installation of the left load area light -A- are  
carried out in the same way.  
Removing:  
– Switch off ignition and all electrical consumers, and withdraw  
ignition key.  
– Unclip light cover in -direction of arrow- and pull off to the  
rear.  
– Press locking lug -A- in -direction of arrow- -B-.

– Lift load area light upwards in -direction of arrow C-, and  
remove it from mounting -D-.  
Installing:  
Install in the reverse order of removal. When doing this, note  
the following:  
– Perform functional check of load area light.

Removing and installing load area light  
“CANYON”  
Special tools and workshop equipment required  
♦ Torque screwdriver -VAS 6494-  
Removing  
– Unscrew bolts -1-.  
– Remove load area light -2-.  
– Disconnect electrical connector.  
Installing  
Install in the reverse order of removal, observing the following:

Removing and installing bulb for load  
area light  
Note  
♦ The illustrations show the removal and installation for the  
right bulb for load area light -M53- -B-.  
♦ The removal and installation of the left bulb for load area  
light -M53- -A- are carried out in the same way.  
Removing:  
– Switch off ignition and all electrical consumers, and withdraw  
ignition key.  
– Remove load area light ⇒ page 180 .  
– Press spring clip -B- in direction of arrow -C- and remove  
bulb for load area light -A-.  
Bulb for load area light -M53-: festoon bulb 12V, 10W  
Installing:  
Install in the reverse order of removal. When doing this, note  
the following:  
– Perform functional check of load area light.
