Central locking
and locked vehicle. In case of emergency,
they may not be able to exit the vehicle by
themselves or get help.
It is an anti-theft system and prevents the
unintentional unlocking of the vehicle. If the
vehicle is unlocked and none of the doors
(including the boot) are opened within 30
seconds, it re-locks automatically.
Introduction
Central locking functions correctly when all
the doors and the rear lid are correctly shut.
If the driver door is open, the vehicle cannot
be locked with the key.
Description

Operation
Depending on the equipment, the vehicle
may have the Keyless Access system.
If the vehicle is not unlocked for an extended
period, the function is deactivated.
Unlock and lock the vehicle with
Keyless Access
The vehicle can be unlocked and locked via
the front doors only. When doing so, the re-
mote control key must be no further than
approx. 1.5 m away from the door handle.
Configure the Keyless Access system
The behaviour of the Keyless Access system
can be adjusted in the Vehicle settings
menu of the Infotainment system.
It does not matter where you carry the key,
e.g. in your jacket pocket.
If the Keyless Access function is disabled, its
operation is limited.
Once the doors have been locked, they can-
not be opened again immediately. This will
enable you to check that the doors are prop-
erly closed.
Keyless Access is a key-free locking and igni-
tion system to unlock and lock the vehicle
without actively using its key. For this, it is on-
ly necessary that there is a valid vehicle key in
the detection area corresponding to the at-
tempted access to the vehicle.
Fig. 77 Keyless Access: proximity zones.
If you wish you may unlock only the corre-
sponding door or the entire vehicle. The
necessary adjustments can be performed in
vehicles with a driver information system

If there is no valid key inside the vehicle
To check that the function has been deac-

aluminium case).
The sensor surfaces on the door handles
could engage if hit with a water jet or high
