Opening from the inside

The front doors and rear doors are

equipped with handles that fold out

and in automatically according to

the vehicle status:

– when the vehicle is unlocked, the

handles fold out to allow access to

the vehicle;

– when the vehicle is locked, the

handles fold in;

– above 3 mph (5 km/h), the handles

fold in;

– when reversing, the handles fold

in.

Once deployed, the handles fold in

automatically after about three min-

utes if no action is performed on the

opening elements.

Pull the handle 3 .

From inside the vehicle, the front ex-

terior handles can be folded out:

the left part and insert the key 2 into

the lock in order to lock or unlock the

driver's door.

With the ignition on, the switch 5

warning light indicates the locking

status of the opening elements:

– when the warning light is on, the

doors and luggage compartment

door are locked;

– indicator light off, the doors and

tailgate are unlocked.

If the ignition is off, when you lock

the doors the warning light remains

lit for some time before disappear-

ing.

After locking/unlocking

the vehicle using the but-

tons on the card, the re-

mote locking and "hands-free"

unlocking modes are deactivat-

ed.

With the door open, turn the screw 4

(using the end of the key) and close

the door.

This means that the door is then

locked from the outside.

The doors may then only be opened

from the inside or by using the key in

the front left-hand door.

The switch 5 simultaneously con-

trols the doors and the luggage

compartment door.

If a door or the tailgate is open or not

closed properly, the doors and tail-

gate lock/unlock quickly.

If transporting an object with the

luggage compartment door open,

you can still lock the doors: with the

ignition off, press and hold the

switch 5 for more than five seconds

to lock the other opening elements.

To reactivate the "hands-free"

mode, restart the vehicle.

The function can also be activated

and deactivated via the multimedia

screen ꢀ 139 (depending on the vehi-

cle).

Operating faults

If you experience an operating fault

(no central locking, the switch light 1

does not light up when trying to lock

the doors and luggage compart-

ment, etc.), make sure that central

locking has not been deactivated by

mistake and check that all of the

opening elements are properly

closed. If they are properly closed,

contact an approved dealer.

– If there is any ice or snow prevent-

ing the tailgate from opening, this

ice or snow must be removed to free

the tailgate.

– In the event that the battery is dis-

charged or if it is replaced, the tail-

gate should be closed (manually if

necessary) to restart the tailgate

motor.

If it is impossible to unlock the lug-

gage compartment, it can be done

manually from inside:

Press button 1 and lift the luggage

The opening or closing of the auto-

matic tailgate is indicated by three

sound signals.

or at the rear of the tailgate,

even for a short while.

They may pose a risk to them-

selves or to others by starting

the engine, activating equip-

ment such as the electric win-

dows, the automatic tailgate or

by locking the doors.

closing the tailgate.

To open the tailgate, press and hold

the switch 4 until you hear the sig-

nal, then release the switch immedi-

ately.

Press the control 2 .

Press the control 3 .

Note: if the switch is not released

quickly enough (within approximate-

ly one second) after the beep, the

tailgate will not open. In this case, re-

peat the sequence.

To close the tailgate, press and hold

the switch 4 until the tailgate closes

completely. A beep sounds through-

out the operation.

Note: if you let go of the switch 4 be-

fore the tailgate is completely

closed, the closing operation is inter-

rupted.

– open the tailgate to an intermedi-

ate position;

– manually adjust the tailgate to the

chosen position;

– press the motorised tailgate con-

trol 3 for more than three seconds to

store the position.

Stopping the tailgate manoeu-

vre

The obstacle detection

is an aid to opening

and closing the tail-

gate, it does not in any

way replace the user's care or

responsibility.

The movement of the motorised tail-

gate can be stopped at any time by

briefly pressing on one of the open-

ing/closing controls.

If the tailgate is stationary in the in-

termediate position, your next press

Two beeps will sound to notify you

that the setting has been saved.

When opening/closing the tail-

gate:

will move the tailgate in the opposite

direction to when you stopped it.

– check that nobody is near any

of the moving parts;

User precautions

– Before opening/closing the tail-

gate, ensure that the surrounding

space is sufficient to allow the tail-

gate to operate.

– Avoid multiple manual stops dur-

ing the automatic tailgate move-

ment (risk of damaging the tailgate

system).

Manual mode

– small objects may not be de-

tected. Ensure that no body

parts (arms, hands, fingers etc.)

are near the moving tailgate

parts.

After stopping the tailgate, you can

perform the manoeuvre manually if

you wish.

You can switch to the automatic

manoeuvre at any time by pressing

one of the controls.

The detection of obstacles is

deactivated at the end of the

movement, before the tailgate

is fully closed. If something gets

stuck, stop the movement by

pressing briefly on one of the

opening/closing controls.

If the tailgate detects an obstacle

during its manoeuvre then it will

stop. It will then be released from the

obstacle following a small move-

ment in the opposite direction, be-

fore stopping completely.

If you operate the automatic tail-

gate continuously for about a

minute (a series of openings and

closings), it locks to prevent over-

heating. The system becomes oper-

ational again after about a minute.

Press a tailgate opening/closing

control to resume the tailgate oper-

ation.

The automatic tailgate will not oper-

ate if the battery is on low charge. In

this case, operate the automatic

tailgate with the engine running.

Note: in very cold weather condi-

tions, the automatic opening may
