Introduction
Use only butane gas cylinders together with a cylinder safety valve and a pressure regulating valve which comply with
the European Standard EN 15202:
Butane gas cylinders type 904.
The above gas cylinders bear the following instruction from the manufacturer: “Not suitable for use in caravans and
motorhomes.” This warning means that gas cylinders of this type must not be used freely within the vehiclebut must
be housed in a special gas cylinder compartment.

Differences in some countries
In some countries, the connection on the pressure regulating valve and the gas cylinder may differ from the
description given here. In this case the components are retrofitted by the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles
dealership or importer.

Risk of explosion when using non-compliant cylinder safety valves or pressure regulating valves.
● Only cylinder safety valves and gas pressure regulators that are compliant with European standard EN 15202 may
be used.
DANGER
Leaking gas can cause an explosion.
● Take the following actions if you smell gas when the cooker is switched off or when connecting a new gas
cylinder:
● Ensure there is no source of fire, spark or open flame in the vicinity.
● Close the safety cylinder valve to the gas cylinder.
● Ensure that there is fresh air in the vehicle.
● Do not connect the gas cylinder if you are unable to eliminate the source of the gas smell. Have the gas system
checked by a qualified workshop.
DANGER
Gas burners use up oxygen in the surrounding area. If the vehicle is not ventilated properly, a life threatening lack of
oxygen will develop.
● Always ensure that there is adequate fresh air entering the vehicle from the moment the gas flame is lit until it is
turned off again.
● Never use the gas burners to heat the vehicle interior.
WARNING
Work carried out incorrectly on the gas system can lead to serious injury.
● All work on the gas system must be carried out by a qualified workshop only.
● Never make modifications to the gas system.
● If there is a leak or you suspect there is a leak in the gas system, have it checked by a qualified workshop.

Improper or insufficient maintenance of the gas system can compromise its safety and cause serious injury.
