Special functions in radio mode
The special functions in radio mode listed below may not be available in all Infotainment systems depending on the
equipment and country.
You can activate and deactivate the special radio mode functions listed below in the radio mode settings (→ Radio
mode).
TP (Traffic Programme)
The TP function monitors the messages from a set traffic news station and plays them back automatically in the
current radio mode or media playback. It must be possible to receive a traffic news station for this purpose.
Some stations that do not broadcast their own traffic news support the TP function using a link to a traffic news
station (EON).
In AM frequency band and in Media mode, the unit will automatically tune to a traffic news station in the background,
if a traffic news station is available.
If no traffic news station can be received,No TP is shown in the display. The unit will automatically search for an
available traffic news station. As soon as a new traffic news station is available, the status on the display changes
back to TP.
Traffic news stations are not available in all countries.
Switching the TP function on
In radio or media mode, touch
Radio and activate Traffic programme (TP).
Other announcements
In addition to the messages from the TP function, you can also receive other announcements from the radio stations
in the DAB frequency range, for instance weather reports.
You can activate this function in the radio mode settings.
Automatic station change
In the DAB frequency band, the best reception mode is selected automatically according to the availability of the
station.
If the reception of the selected station in the DAB frequency band is lost, the radio can automatically select this
station or a similar station with the best reception quality in the FM frequency band, provided the station is available.
You can activate this function in the radio mode settings.
Changing to similar stations
If the reception of a station deteriorates or is lost, the radio automatically switches to an alternative station, e.g. a
neighbouring regional station, depending on station availability and reception quality.
You can activate this function in the radio mode settings.
Internet Radio
Internet Radio is a reception mode for Internet radio stations and podcasts and is independent of AM, FM and DAB.
As it is transmitted via the Internet, reception is not regionally restricted.
Internet Radio is only available when the Infotainment system is connected to the internet (→ Radio – Internet
Radio), Owner’s manual – Mobile online services. Costs may be incurred for data transmission from the Internet when
using Internet Radio mode.
