Transmission Fluid
5. If the level is below the lower
mark, add fluid into the filler hole
to bring it to the level between the
upper and lower marks.
Pour the fluid slowly and carefully so
you do not spill any. Clean up any
spills immediately. Spilled fluid could
damage components in the engine
compartment.
7. Insert the dipstick all the way back
into the transmission securely as
shown in the illustration.
The transmission should be drained
and refilled with new fluid according
to the time and distance recommen-
dations in the maintenance schedule.
6. To check the accurate level, start
the engine again. Hold it at 1,500
rpm until the radiator fan comes
on and rotate it twice.
For EU models
If you drive at high speed in high
temperatures [above 35°C (95°F)],
the transmission fluid should be
changed when you reach 40,000 km
(25,000 miles) or 2 years, whichever
comes first.
If you are not sure how to add fluid,
contact your dealer.
