The fuel filter should be replaced
according to the time and distance
recommendations in the mainte-
nance schedule.
PIVOTS
It is recommended to replace the
fuel filter every 40,000 km (25,000
miles), or 2 years (except EU), if the
fuel you are using is suspected to be
contaminated with dust, etc. because
the filter may be clogged sooner.
LATCH ASSEMBLY
Have a qualified technician change
the fuel filter. Since the fuel system
is under pressure, fuel can spray out
and create a hazard if all fuel line
connections are not handled
correctly.
Clean the bonnet latch assembly
with a mild cleaner, then lubricate it
with a multipurpose grease.
Lubricate all the moving parts (as
shown), including the pivot. If you
are not sure how to clean and grease
the latch, contact your dealer.
