ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM
HR16DE AND HR15DE ENGINE MODELS
WARNING:
.
Never remove the radiator or coolant reser-
voir cap when the engine is hot. Serious
burns could be caused by high-pressure
fluid escaping from the radiator. Wait until
the engine and radiator cool down.
.
.
Engine coolant is poisonous and should be
stored carefully in marked containers out of
the reach of children.
If the engine was stopped soon when the
engine is hot, the cooling fan may operate
for approximately 10 minutes after the
engine was stopped to cool the components
in the engine compartment. When the cool-
ing fan is operating, be sure that hands or
other items do not get caught in it (for
MR16DDT engine).
The engine cooling system is filled at the factory with a
high-quality, year-round, anti-freeze coolant solution.
The anti-freeze solution contains rust and corrosion
inhibitors, therefore additional cooling system additives
are not necessary.
CAUTION:
JVC0153X
.
.
Never use any cooling system additives such
as radiator sealer. Additives may clog the
cooling system and cause damage to the
engine, transmission and/or cooling system.
