Infotainment system -> User management for Your Volkswagen ID.7 4 Door First Generation (2023-2025)

Introduction to the topic
User accounts can be created for different vehicle users by means of the user management function. This allows
personalised vehicle settings (e.g. for the air conditioning system)to be saved in a user account.
The following user roles are available for user accounts:
Primary user
The “primary user” role is intended for the vehicle keeper or for users who do not just have temporary
authorisation to use the vehicle (e.g. a lessee or company car driver). Only the primary user is authorised to order
and activate services for a specific vehicle.
There is only one primary user per vehicle. If a new primary user legitimises themselves for the vehicle, the
previous primary user will automatically lose their primary user role. The previous primary user will be informed
about this.
Guest users
The “guest user” role is intended for all other vehicle users who do not have the “primary user” role but who want
to save vehicle settings in a personal user account. Like the primary user, the guest user can also use mobile online
services in the vehicle. Use of the mobile online services in the app is possible with restrictions for the guest user.
Anonymous guest
The “Anonymous guest” user role is a non person-specific account that exists locally in the vehicle and cannot be
synchronised with the server. The “Anonymous guest” user role is intended for anonymous guests. These are
persons who have access to the vehicle but do not log in. This account exists only once in vehicles with online
personalisation and cannot be deleted. If the “Anonymous guest” user role is activated in the vehicle, all users
logged into the vehicle will be logged out temporarily.

Managing users
After successful registration and verification, you can assign rights to the vehicle users.
In addition to the primary user, there are also guest users and anonymous guest users. It is not possible to
manage the anonymous guest users. As the primary user, you can view and manage guest users via the
myVolkswagen customer area and via the app.
Removing guest users via myVolkswagen
1. Open the Vehicle users Manage users area.
2. In the Guest user area, click onDelete next to the corresponding user.

Deleting the primary user
If you sell your vehicle or transfer the services to another user, you should reset the Infotainment system to the
factory settings. This will also delete the primary user and the service-specific data that is stored in the vehicle.
When you restore the system to factory settings, a pop-up window appears in the Infotainment system asking
whether you also want to reset the primary user. Carrying out this function will delete the link between the primary
user and the services in the relevant vehicle. Resetting the Infotainment system to the factory settings permanently
deletes entries, settings and the stored data according to the selection you make.
