Seatframes -> Removing and installing seat longitudinal adjustment motor [V28]/[V31] for Your Volkswagen Multivan SUV Seventh Generation (2024-2025)

General body repairs, interior - Edition 09.2024  
CAUTION  
Risk of injury caused by flying metal shavings.  
Eyes and skin can suffer irritation or injuries.  
– Put on safety goggles.  
– Put on protective gloves.  
– Drill out pop rivets -3- at front and rear using a commercially  
available power drill.  
– Separate electrical connectors -2- and -4-.

– Swing lumbar support -1- at bottom towards front.  
– Unhook lumbar support -1- in area of -arrows- from backrest  
frame -2-, and remove it.  
Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:  
– Insert new pop rivets ⇒ Electronic parts catalogue (ETKA)  
using special pop rivet pliers - V.A.G 1753B- .

Removing and installing seat depth ad‐  
juster  
Removal and installation are described for left side of vehicle as  
an example.

Removing  
– Remove driver seat adjustment control unit - J810- ⇒ Rep.  
gr. 72 ; Removing and installing seat adjustment control  
unit .  
– Unclip bracket for seat adjustment control unit.  
– Move seat depth adjuster to foremost position.  
– Release fasteners -arrows- using commercially available  
plastic wedge.

– Remove trim -2-.  
– Unclip seat depth adjuster handle -1-.  
– Detach cover -1- from front profile in direction of -arrow-.
