Removing

– Press release button -2- on head restraint guide -1- in direc‐

tion of -arrow A-, and hold it there.

– Pull out head restraint -3- in direction of -arrow B-.

– Insert new head restraint guides into recess.

– Note installation position of head restraint guides.

Important

Head restraint guides must engage in recess.

Removing and installing trim for locking

Removing

– Unclip trim for locking mechanism -1- using commercially

available plastic wedge, and remove it.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.

– Remove cover and padding of rear seat backrest ⇒ Rep.

gr. 74 ; Removing and installing cover and padding of rear

seat backrest .

CAUTION

Risk of injury caused by flying metal shavings.

Eyes and skin can suffer irritation or injuries.

– Put on safety goggles.

– Put on protective gloves.

– Drill out pop rivets -1- and -2- using a commercially available

power drill.

– Remove adapter -3-.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

– Use special pop rivet pliers - VAS 5072A- to insert new pop

rivets ⇒ Electronic parts catalogue (ETKA) in the sequence

-1- and -2-.
