Using the Wi-Fi hotspot of an external mobile device
The internet connection for the VolkswagenWe Connect services can be established with the Infotainment system via
the Wi-Fi hotspot of an external device such as a mobile telephone.
Prerequisite
✓ There is a mobile telephone with an internet connection and a SIM card with a data package.
Activating the mobile hotspot of the external device
1. Activate the hotspot in the mobile device settings. Observe the operating instructions provided by the
manufacturer.
2. Make a note of the network key so you can enter it into the Infotainment system.
It is best to activate the hotspot of the mobile device only when you are already in the vehicle. A hotspot will
be deactivated automatically after some time if no device is connected.
Activating the Wi-Fi function of the Infotainment system
—Switch on the ignition.
—Touch the Settings function button in the main menu of the Infotainment system.
—Tap the Wi-Fi function button to open theSetup menu.
—Tick the Wi-Fi checkbox.
—Select the external device and enter the network key.
