depends on the mobile device.

connection.
Generally, all warning and operation tones on a connected cell phone, such as touch tones, should be
switched off to avoid interference and malfunctions.
Introduction
You have two options for using Internet in the vehicle.
Via the hotspot on a mobile device, e.g. cell phone.
Via the eSIM
of the vehicle (→ Wi-Fi).
The possible types of internet connections depend on the country and the vehicle equipment and the Infotainment
system being used.
When using the hotspot on a mobile device, depending on your mobile data rate, additional costs, such as roaming
fees, may result from downloading and using data plans online, especially in other countries. Volkswagen
recommends using a mobile phone plan with a flat rate data package due to the possible volume of data. Information
on this can be obtained from the mobile network provider.
In order to use the eSIM
, you need to purchase data plans via the web shop of Volkswagen's external mobile communications partner.
347
However, you do not need any data plans from the external mobile communications partner in order to use
Volkswagen AG's mobile online services. This requires a contract for using mobile online services, which may be
subject to a charge.
Regardless of how you establish the Internet connection, whether via a mobile device hotspot or via theeSIM
of the vehicle, you can use the Infotainment system as a Wi-Fi® hotspot for eight other mobile devices (→ Wi-Fi). This
function depends on the vehicle equipment and is not available in all vehicles.

Due to the large number of mobile devices that are available, there is no guarantee that all functions will
always be available.
The availability of the function for using the Infotainment system as aWi-
Fi
hotspot depends on the country and may vary.
The Wi-Fi
