Removing and installing front three-

point seat belt [NX10]/[NX11]

Front left seat belt - NX10- and front right seat belt - NX11- are

referred to hereafter as three-point seat belt.

Removal and installation are described for left side of vehicle as

an example.

Removing

– Disconnect battery earth cable ⇒ Electrical system; Rep.

gr. 27 ; Battery; Disconnecting and connecting battery .

– Remove front belt guide ⇒ Rep. gr. 69 ; Removing and

installing front belt guide .

– Remove lower B-pillar trim ⇒ Rep. gr. 70 ; Removing and

installing lower B-pillar trim .

– Unscrew bolt -2-.

– Remove belt guide fitting -1- with belt webbing.

CAUTION

It is possible to trigger pyrotechnic components unintentional‐

ly.

Risk of injury

– Discharge static electricity by briefly touching door striker

plate.

NOTICE

Risk of irreparable damage due to electrostatic discharge.

– Do not touch connector contacts with your hands.

– Touch the lifting platform or other earthed object to dis‐

charge static electricity.

– Disconnect electrical connector -5-, releasing securing clip

with a small commercially available screwdriver when doing

so.

– Disconnect electrical connectors -3-.

Note

Diagram shows a vehicle with reversible belt tensioner.

– Unclip spreader rivets -2-.

– Unscrew bolt -4-.

– Remove front three-point seat belt -1-.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

CAUTION

It is possible to trigger pyrotechnic components unintentional‐

ly.

Risk of injury

– Discharge static electricity by briefly touching door striker

plate.

NOTICE

Risk of irreparable damage due to electrostatic discharge.

– Do not touch connector contacts with your hands.

– Touch the lifting platform or other earthed object to dis‐

charge static electricity.

– Insert front three-point seat belt with anti-twist protection -1-

into mounting in direction of -arrow-, and tighten bolt.

– Connect battery earth cable ⇒ Electrical system; Rep.

gr. 27 ; Battery; Disconnecting and connecting battery .

CAUTION

Pyrotechnic components can trigger unintentionally.

Risk of injury.

– Keep far away from pyrotechnic components when switch‐

ing on ignition.

– Switch on ignition.

Vehicles with control unit for front left belt tensioner - J854- or

control unit for front right belt tensioner - J855-

When front three-point automatic seat belt has been renewed:

– Carry out function “Adapt control unit” using ⇒ Vehicle diag‐

nostic tester ⇒ Rep. gr. 00 ; Access to diagnoses .
