Seat occupied recognition  
9.1  
Removing and installing front seat oc‐  
cupied sensor [G1067]/[G128]  
The seat occupied sensor on driver side - G1067- and seat  
occupied sensor on front passenger side - G128- will henceforth  
be referred to as “seat occupied sensor”.  
Removing  
– Move front seat to rearmost and highest position.  
– Disconnect electrical connector -2-.  
– Unclip mounting -1- -arrows-.  
– Detach seat occupied sensor -3-. To do this, push padding  
upwards slightly.  
Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:  
– Connect electrical connector until it engages audibly.

Removing and installing battery in con‐  
trol unit for wireless connection of seat  
occupied sensors  
The battery in the control unit for wireless connection of seat  
occupied sensors will henceforth be referred to as “battery”.  
The control unit for wireless connection of seat occupied sen‐  
sors will henceforth be referred to as “control unit”.  
Removing  
– Remove control unit for wireless connection of seat occupied  
sensors ⇒ Rep. gr. 69 ; Removing and installing control unit  
for wireless connection of seat occupied sensors .

– Pull control unit -2- off housing -1-.

– Remove battery -1-.  
Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal.

Removing and installing rear seat  
occupied sensor [G1116], [G1117],  
[G1118], [G1119], [G1120]  
The rear left seat occupied sensor, seat row 2 - G1116- , rear  
right seat occupied sensor, seat row 2 - G1117- , rear centre  
seat occupied sensor, seat row 2 - G1118- , rear left seat occu‐  
pied sensor, seat row 3 - G1119- and rear right seat occupied  
sensor, seat row 3 - G1120- will henceforth be referred to as  
“seat occupied sensor”.  
Removal and installation are described for one seat occupied  
sensor as an example.

Removing  
– Operate locking lever -2-, and fold up seat padding -1-.  
– Unclip cover -1- from retainer strip -2-.  
– Detach cover -3- from seat pan.

– Disconnect electrical connector -1-.  
– Press locking device -arrow-, and remove seat occupied  
sensor -2- from seat pan. To do this, push seat padding  
upwards slightly.  
Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal.

Removing and installing control unit for  
wireless connection of seat occupied  
sensors

9.4.1  
Removing and installing control unit for  
wireless connection of seat occupied  
sensors [J1247]  
The control unit for wireless connection of seat occupied sen‐  
sors - J1247- will henceforth be referred to as “control unit”.  
Removing  
– Move seat to rearmost and highest position.  
– Remove trim -1- from seat frame.  
– Disconnect electrical connector -2-.  
– Press locking device -arrow-, and swing out control unit -1-  
in direction of -arrow-.  
Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:  
If control unit has been renewed:  
– Adapt control unit using ⇒ Vehicle diagnostic tester.

The control unit for wireless connection of left seat occupied  
sensor, seat row 2 - J1248- , control unit for wireless connection  
of right seat occupied sensor, seat row 2 - J1249- , control unit  
for wireless connection of centre seat occupied sensor, seat  
row 2 - J1250- , control unit for wireless connection of left seat  
occupied sensor, seat row 3 - J1251- , control unit for wireless  
connection of right seat occupied sensor, seat row 3 - J1252-  
and control unit for wireless connection of centre seat occupied  
sensor, seat row 3 - J1253- will henceforth be referred to a  
“control unit”.  
Removal and installation are described for one control unit as  
an example.  
Removing  
– Remove rear trim ⇒ Rep. gr. 72 ; Removing and installing  
seat trim .  
– Press locking device -arrow-. At the same time, pull control  
unit -2- off rear trim -1-.  
Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:  
If control unit has been renewed:  
– Adapt control unit using ⇒ Vehicle diagnostic tester.
