Assembly overview – lower rear lid trim

Removing and instal‐  
ling surround lighting  
[W61]/[W62]

Removing and installing lower rear lid  
trim  
Special tools and workshop equipment required  
♦ removal lever - 80-200-  
♦ removal tool - T40280-  
The lower rear lid trim will henceforth be referred to as “trim”.

Removing  
– Unscrew bolts -2-, and remove pull loop -1-.  
lk  
– Use removal lever - 80-200- to release retaining clips -1-,  
and pull off trim -2- far enough to gain access to electrical  
connectors.  
– Disconnect electrical connectors.  
– Remove trim -2-.  
Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:  
– Remove any retaining clips left in rear lid using removal tool  
- T40280- , and insert them into trim.  
Tightening torques  
♦ ⇒ Rep. gr. 70 ; Assembly overview – lower rear lid trim

Removing and installing lock carrier

Special tools and workshop equipment required  
♦ wedge - T10383-

Removing  
– Remove fastening rings ⇒ Rep. gr. 70 ; Removing and  
installing fastening ring .  
– Move aside rear lid seal in area of lock carrier trim -2-.  
– Use wedge - T10383- to release clips -1-, and remove lock  
carrier trim -2-.

Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:  
– Bring sealing lip of rear lid seal into installation position.  
Tightening torques  
♦ ⇒ Rep. gr. 70 ; Assembly overview - side trim

Removing and installing fastening rings  
Removal and installation is described for one fastening ring as  
an example.  
Removing  
– Fold up cover -1-.  
– Unscrew bolt -3-.  
– Remove fastening ring -2-.

Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

– Make sure that fastening ring is aligned parallel with rear  
edge of lock carrier trim.  
Tightening torques
