Trim,insulation -> Removing and installing moulded headliner for Your Volkswagen Multivan SUV Seventh Generation (2024-2025)

– Use removal wedge from removal wedge set - VAS 895 015-  
to release clips -2-.  
– Pull off roof end strip -2- far enough to gain access to electri‐  
cal connector.  
– Disconnect electrical connector.  
– Remove roof end strip -2-.  
Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:  
– Bring sealing lip of rear lid seal into installation position.

Special tools and workshop equipment required  
♦ 3 mm drill bit, commercially available  
♦ Drill, commercially available  
♦ Step drill bit, commercially available  
♦ Suitable drill bit 3 mm, commercially available  
♦ hook - 3370-  
♦ step drill bit, commercially available  
Note  
The moulded headliner is removed along with the vents. The  
vents can only be removed after the moulded headliner has  
been removed.  
The rear moulded headliner without glass panel will henceforth  
be referred to as “moulded headliner”.  
Removing  
– Remove front moulded headliner ⇒ Rep. gr. 70 ; Removing  
and installing moulded headliner .  
– Release C-pillar trims ⇒ Rep. gr. 70 ; Removing and instal‐  
ling C-pillar trim .  
– Remove roof end strip ⇒ Rep. gr. 70 ; Removing and instal‐  
ling roof end strip .

– Remove individual seats ⇒ Rep. gr. 72 ; Removing and  
installing individual seats .  
– Pull air duct system in D pillar -2- out of moulded headliner  
-1-.

Vehicles with operating and display unit for rear air conditioning  
system - E265-  
– Use commercially available plastic wedge to release cover  
with operating and display unit for rear air conditioning sys‐  
tem - E265- -2- far enough to gain access to electrical con‐  
nector.  
– Disconnect electrical connector.  
– Remove cover with operating and display unit for rear air  
conditioning system - E265- -2-.  
– Unscrew bolt -1-.  
All vehicles (continued)  
– Unscrew bolt -1-.

– Insert hook - 3370- -2- through opening in net partition re‐  
tainer, and pull net partition mounting -1- to unclip it.  
Important  
The net partition mounting must be unclipped at right angles  
to the vent.  
NOTICE  
Risk of damage from incorrect handling.  
– Do not kink moulded headliner.  
– Release moulded headliner from beading of door seal and  
sliding door seal.  
– Pull moulded headliner in opposite direction of travel out of  
clips.  
Note  
Moulded headliner is held in place by the arrester straps.  
– Release fastener -arrow-, and disconnect electrical connec‐  
tors -1- at rear interior lights/reading lights.  
Note  
The electrical connectors on the interior lights/reading lights and  
the arrester strap bolts can be accessed between the moulded  
headliner and the roof cross member.  
Note  
The locking element of the electrical connectors on the interior  
lights/reading lights is located on the left-hand side when seen  
in the direction of travel.

– Detach arrester strap -1- from body by unscrewing bolt -2-  
between moulded headliner and roof cross member.

Important  
The aid of an additional person is required for the subse‐  
quent work steps.  
– Remove moulded headliner towards rear.  
– Place moulded headliner on a clean and soft surface.  
Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:  
– Pull clips -1- out of roof cross members.  
– Insert clips -1- into holder -2- in direction of -arrow-.  
– Release vent’s freely accessible retaining clips.  
On front left and front right on air duct  
NOTICE  
Risk of damage to air duct  
– Do not drill hole too deep.

Note  
Access to the retaining clip of the vent can be obtained by  
drilling a hole into the air duct.  
– Pre-drill hole -1- with a commercially available drill and a  
3 mm drill bit, commercially available .  
– Drill hole -1- with a commercially available drill and step drill  
bit, commercially available to 10 mm.  
Important  
Make sure to maintain dimension -a- = 13 mm.  
Make sure to maintain dimension -b- = 45 mm.  
– Use a commercially available screwdriver to release retain‐  
ing clip through hole. At the same time, remove vent from  
moulded headliner.  
– Cut 2 pieces of self-adhesive aluminium foil ⇒ Electronic  
parts catalogue (ETKA) to size of 40 × 28 mm.  
– Clean bonding surface with cleaning solution ⇒ Electronic  
parts catalogue (ETKA) .  
– Cover hole in air duct with self-adhesive aluminium foil  
⇒ Electronic parts catalogue (ETKA) .

On rear left and rear right on air duct  
NOTICE

– Do not drill hole too deep.  
Note  
Access to the retaining clip of the vent can be obtained by  
drilling a hole into the air duct.  
– Pre-drill hole -1- with a commercially available drill and a  
3 mm drill bit, commercially available .  
– Drill hole -1- with a commercially available drill and step drill  
bit, commercially available to 10 mm.  
Important  
Make sure to maintain dimension -a- = 11 mm.  
Make sure to maintain dimension -b- = 85 mm.  
– Use a commercially available screwdriver to release retain‐  
ing clip through hole. At the same time, remove vent from  
moulded headliner.  
– Cut 2 pieces of self-adhesive aluminium foil ⇒ Electronic  
parts catalogue (ETKA) to size of 40 × 28 mm.  
– Clean bonding surface with cleaning solution ⇒ Electronic  
parts catalogue (ETKA) .  
– Cover hole in air duct with self-adhesive aluminium foil  
⇒ Electronic parts catalogue (ETKA) .

– Route arrester strap -1- in retainer -arrows- on moulded  
headliner, and engage clips.  
Important  
The aid of an additional person is required for the subse‐  
quent work steps.  
– Position moulded headliner in front and rear centring ele‐  
ment.  
– Clip in moulded headliner.  
– Make sure that no electrical wires are trapped.  
– Screw in bolts -1- by hand, and tighten them.  
Tightening torques

Removing and installing moulded  
headliner, front, without glass panel  
Special tools and workshop equipment required  
♦ release pliers - T10558A-  
The front moulded headliner without glass panel will henceforth  
be referred to as “moulded headliner”.  
Removing  
– Remove upper A-pillar trims ⇒ Rep. gr. 70 ; Removing and  
installing upper A-pillar trim .

NOTICE  
Risk of damage from incorrect handling.  
– Do not kink moulded headliner.  
– Release retaining clips -2- using release pliers - T10558A- .  
When doing this, lower moulded headliner -1- slightly.  
– Ensure that release pliers - T10558A- are positioned central‐  
ly in retaining clips.  
NOTICE  
Risk of damage from incorrect handling.  
– Do not kink moulded headliner.

– Release moulded headliner -1- from door seal beading -2-.  
– Pull moulded headliner -1- in direction of travel out of clips.  
Important  
The aid of an additional person is required for the subse‐  
quent work steps.  
– Remove moulded headliner -1- towards side.

Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:  
– Pull clips -1- out of roof cross members.  
– Insert clips -1- into holder -2- in direction of -arrow-.  
Important  
The aid of an additional person is required for the subse‐  
quent work steps.  
– Position moulded headliner in front and rear centring ele‐  
ment.  
– Clip in moulded headliner starting at front.  
– Make sure that no electrical wires are trapped.  
8.3.3  
Removing and installing moulded  
headliner, front, with glass panel  
Special tools and workshop equipment required  
♦ release pliers - T10558A-  
♦ removal wedge - T40233-  
The front moulded headliner with glass panel will henceforth be  
referred to as “moulded headliner”.
