Trim,insulation -> Removing and installing side trim for Your Volkswagen Multivan SUV Seventh Generation (2024-2025)

Multivan 2025 ➤ , Multivan 2022 ➤  
General body repairs, interior - Edition 09.2024  
– Remove retaining clips left in body using removal tool -  
T40280- , and insert them into D-pillar trim.  
– Bring sealing lip of rear lid seal into installation position.

Special tools and workshop equipment required  
♦ wedge - T10383-  
Removal and installation are described for left side of vehicle as  
an example.  
Removing  
– Remove C-pillar trim ⇒ Rep. gr. 70 ; Removing and instal‐  
ling C-pillar trim .  
– Remove D-pillar trim ⇒ Rep. gr. 70 ; Removing and instal‐  
ling D pillar trim .  
– Remove lock carrier trim ⇒ Rep. gr. 70 ; Removing and  
installing lock carrier trim .  
– Remove individual seats ⇒ Rep. gr. 72 ; Removing and  
installing individual seats .  
– Unclip belt exit point trim.

– Unscrew bolt -2-, and remove belt end fitting -1-.

– Unscrew bolts -3-.  
– Use wedge - T10383- to release clips -2-.  
– Pull off side trim -1- far enough to gain access to electrical  
connectors.  
– Disconnect electrical connectors.  
– Remove side trim -1-.  
Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:  
– Turn locking mechanism from position -2- to position -1-.  
Important  
•
The side trim can only be installed when the locking mecha‐  
nism is in position -1-.  
– Bring sealing lip of rear lid seal into installation position.  
Tightening torques  
♦ ⇒ Rep. gr. 70 ; Assembly overview - side trim  
♦ ⇒ Rep. gr. 69 ; Assembly overview – rear outer three-point  
seat belt

Removing  
– Remove side trim ⇒ Rep. gr. 70 ; Removing and installing  
side trim .  
– Unscrew bolts -2-, and remove loading floor/bed frame  
bracket -1-.  
Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:
